Talbot re-joins Wall Racing, the same squad with which he captured the 2019 Carrera Cup Pro-Am crown, plus the 2022 Enduro Cup honours.
Since his last Carrera Cup stint in 2022, Talbot has gone on to become a GT ace, claiming the 2023 and ‘24 GTWCA championships and an outright podium at the Bathurst 12 Hour.
After a difficult 2025 season in Aston Martin machinery with Volante Rosso Motorsport, Talbot did not return to GT racing this year.
Looking to add to a tally of 16 race wins, Talbot is set to contest the remainder of the season alongside reigning Sprint Challenge champion Jake Santalucia and fellow Pro-Am Richard MacDonald.
“It’s great to be coming back to Wall Racing and to Porsche Carrera Cup,” Talbot said.
“I have many fond memories from my time in the category and winning a championship with the team in 2019, which is one of my career highlights.
“I know the team and the car well and even though we have missed one round I am confident we will be able to contend for victories from Darwin onwards.
“We are hoping to pick up where we left off and really enjoy the next six events.”
Team owner David Wall heralded the return of a “close friend”.
“It’s fantastic to have Liam come back to Wall Racing where we have had great success especially in 2019 and 2022 in the Pro-Am class,” Wall said.
“Liam is a great addition to our team and is also a close friend, so we are looking forward to getting underway ASAP in preparation for the next round in Darwin.
“Also, a special thanks to Drew Hall, who also made this possible with Liam taking over his car for the rest of 2026.”
Talbot’s return coincides with an updated ‘Enduro’ format for Darwin, which includes a pair of 45-minute races, more closely aligned to other Carrera Cup championships globally.
The Pro-Am category continues to add depth, with Talbot joining fellow class champions Rodney Jane and Stephen Grove, alongside podium finishers Matt Belford and Dean Cook.
Porsche Equity-One Carrera Cup Australia returns for Round 2 at the Darwin Triple Crown on June 19-21.
