The Frenchman will leave Yamaha at the end of the 2026 season, finishing an eight-year spell with the Japanese brand.
Quartararo made his MotoGP debut in 2019 with satellite squad Sepang Racing Team before joining the factory team in 2021.
That year, he won the world championship. He was runner-up the following year but has failed to challenge for the title since.
Quartararo has long been linked to a move to Honda, with rumours that a deal was done surfacing as far back as the pre-season testing.
The announcement comes off the back of MotoGP and its manufacturers signing the so-called Concorde Agreement.
“Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) are pleased to announce the signing of Fabio Quartararo for the 2027 and 2028 MotoGP World Championship seasons,” Honda said in a statement.

“Quartararo will race for the factory Honda HRC team as the 850cc era of MotoGP begins from 2027.”
As for who will partner Quartararo at the factory squad, that has not yet been announced.
Before announcing Quartarto, Honda announced a multi-year deal for Moto2 graduate David Alonso.
That announcement did not stipulate whether Alonso would ride for the factory squad.
It’s believed Diogo Moreira is still a candidate for the seat alongside Quartararo.
