The Holden Racing Team will enter the the 2013 V8 Supercars Championship with a new engineering structure.
The factory Holden outfit confirmed the new engineering line-up at the launch of the team’s new VF Commodore in Port Melbourne today.

The new engineering line-up will see the engineers take on new titles and revised roles, with the traditional ‘race engineer’ and ‘data engineer’ replaced by ‘car manager’ and ‘performance engineer’ assigned to each car.
The shuffle will see Scott Sinclair move from the Car of the Future project to manage Garth Tander’s #2 entry, with Jason Bush taking on the engineering role.
James Courtney’s #22 Commodore VF will be will be managed by Rob Starr and engineered by Alastair McVean.
For Walkinshaw Racing’s third entry for Russell Ingall in Supercheap Auto colours, the car will be managed by Matthew Crawford, with performance engineering coming from Bryce Seales.
As reported by Speedcafe.com previously, Ingall’s Supercheap Auto Commodore VF will be revealed on Wednesday.
HRT performance director Tony Dowe says that the new structure is designed to move the team forward.
“We tried the new structure last year and it worked very well,” Dowe told Speedcafe.com.
“The head count is the same, it’s just the way we use people.
“All the roles that they all do are divided down so we can be more responsive. It needs to be more linear about how we make it best for each driver.
“We’re happy with the combination. The object was to improve what we had and make it strong. Whether its mechanics, engineers, tyre people, whoever.”
After shaking down the team’s third and final car this morning at Calder, the Holden Racing Team will hit the track next at Sydney Motorsport park for the official pre-season test.
