A record batch of 30 new Porsche 992 generation 911 GT3 Cup cars is headed for Australia.
It comes in preparation for the 2022 Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup Australia season, in what is the largest influx of cars in category history.
The 992 generation model is being used this year in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup and other international Carrera Cup series.
“Since the car was revealed in Germany in December the interest shown in the new 992 GT3 Cup car locally has been very strong,” said Porsche Cars Australia head of motorsport Troy Bundy.
‘With a huge field set to line-up in Carrera Cup Australia this year, this has provided us the opportunity to import a record number of cars into Australia, with priority given to our current drivers and teams.
“We also welcome expressions of interest from motorsport customers across Australia and New Zealand.”
The 2021 Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup Australia series will kick-off at Sandown on March 19-21.
