Ryan Simpson's lead in the Kumho V8 Touring Car Series has been slashed to just three points after the Ford driver was barred from taking part in the final race at Phillip Island.
Simpson was forced to watch Race 3 from the sidelines after his ex-Triple Eight Falcon was deemed to be in breach of the circuit's strict noise limits.
The weekend was dominated by Cameron McConville, who controlled all three races in a one-off drive of Eggleston Motorsport's second ex-Walkinshaw Holden.
The veteran won the opening two races before ceding to title contending team-mate Justin Ruggier on the final lap of Race 3.
The result brings Ruggier to within three points of Simpson after four of six rounds.
Second in Race 3 ensured McConville the round victory, giving the 40-year-old the unique status of being the first man to win rounds in all three tiers of V8 Supercar racing.
The result also marked the first Holden round win in the series since Scott Loadsman's success at Wakefield Park three years ago.
Ruggier was second for the round ahead of Matt Palmer, John Vergotis, Steve Briffa, Simpson and Matt Chahda in the thin seven-car field.
The penultimate round of the season will take place at Wakefield Park on October 18-19.
