Patrizicorse has named Australians Troy Loeskow and Henry Johnstone, and New Zealander Matthew Payne, as its drivers for next month’s KZ World Championships meet in Italy.
The squad, owned by former Supercars driver Michael Patrizi, will run as the Ricciardo Kart factory team when competition takes place at the South Garda circuit on September 20-22.
Loeskow, the current Australian KZ2 Championship leader, will step up to race in the CIK-FIA KZ world championship.
He has previously spent two seasons in Europe racing with the Ricciardo Kart factory team.
Payne’s KZ2 Supercup entry represents a return to that arena, and comes after he won the KZ2 class in Round 4 of the Australian Kart Championship on debut for Patrizicorse.
For Johnstone, the outing is his European debut.
“I am extremely proud to be able to bring this whole package together, I am sure heading into the event our drivers will be given as much chance as any other to get a result,” said Patrizi.
“For Troy and Matthew, we are going for a result. They have the experience and understanding of what is needed to race at the front on the world stage. For Henry, being his first race in Europe, I am sure from my own experience it will be a big culture shock at the start, both on and off track.
“However, after a few practice sessions and with the raw speed he has shown here in Australia I am sure he too can achieve a good result”.
