Stone Brothers Racing will race with ‘Red T-Shirts’ on the rear doors of its Ford Falcons to support and raise awareness for the Daniel Morcombe Foundation at Queensland Raceway this weekend.
The Daniel Morcombe Foundation implements harm prevention initiatives in schools across Australia and is committed to teaching personal safety skills to the young and vulnerable in our community.
Daniel Morcombe, 13, disappeared while waiting for a bus along Nambour Connection Road in Woombye on December 7, 2003.
Police recently charged a 41-year-old man with the murder of Morcombe. Authorities are currently searching for his remains.
V8 team SBR hopes that by promoting the Daniel Morcombe Foundation this weekend, it will raise awareness for a safer environment through protection and education for children in the community.
“We are honoured to be able to help the Morcombe family’s Foundation,” SBR’s team principal Ross Stone said.
“A few stickers on our cars is the least we can do – but this message will no doubt reach our fans, commercial partners and the wider motorsport community, who will in-turn pass it on – and if that happens then our support has been worthwhile.”
Daniel’s parents Denise and Bruce Morcombe are appreciative of SBR’s support and the opportunity to help spread the Foundation’s message.
