The year of mixed formats is well and truly underway with the Tasmanian round at Symmons Plains reverting to genuine sprint racing this weekend.
The Symmons Plains meeting will feature twin 60km races on Saturday and two 100km races on Sunday which is slightly shorter than the following weekend at Pukekohe and the May meeting at Austin, Texas, which both carry 4x100km races.
There are several other weekends through the year which will adopt the 2x60km and 2x100km format.
This is compared to a 120km race on Saturday and a 200km race on Sunday from last year's schedule. It's effectively the same distance but broken into smaller bites.
Is this the right way to go in an effort to spice things up?
