In the past, Darren and Garry have on occasion picked out important grassroots events. They previewed the Winton Festival of Speed recently, and the Improved Production Nationals last year and will look to do more of these significant events in the future.
But this week they are again featuring Leyburn in the leadup to the 30th running which commemorates the 1949 Australian Grand Prix, supported by Speedcafe, that took place nearby.

Tricia who heads the organising committee and Chris on the media and promotional side, talk about the upcoming Sprints on August 15 to 16 where the tiny Darling Downs township is transformed from around 500 to around 19,000 many of whom will camp there for the whole weekend.

The Sprints are really all about Grassroots Motorsport and this year’s 30th running will be the biggest ever. Tricia and Chris cover the history and talk about many of the near 250 entries. As well they speak of the other feature attractions such as the Night with the Stars Under the Stars, the Shannons Super Rig 2, Vintage Vans, Show ‘n’ Shine and much more.
