Kelly Racing is facing a crossroads regarding its Supercars plans for next year with options to either stick with its Nissan Altima or move to another brand all under evaluation.
Supercars is set to reveal the start of the technical reform soon with the series currently assessing a number of changes, including a reduction of aero on cars, improving the durability of engines, the introduction of control dampers and a move to a drive-by-wire throttle system.
Since 2013, the squad has raced the Nissan Altima which has struggled to stay competitive now Holden and Ford have ushered in the ZB Commodore and Mustang respectively.
The car has undergone a number of updates over the last seven years with Supercars today confirming another aerodynamic package change to the Altima.
Kelly Racing has already investigated further upgrades to the Nissan to bring it closer to the Mustang and Commodore and has admitted its priority is to continue with the Altima, if it can be competitive.
The outfit believes it still has time to complete the necessary upgrades to the Altima to be ready for next season.
However, the prospect of switching to either the Holden ZB Commodore or the Ford Mustang for 2020 is still on the table with the squad intending to maintain its four car model.
