Ricciardo Karters win again in Geelong

Troy Loeskow (centre) won again in KZ2

Troy Loeskow and Jace Matthews have backed up their opening round Australian Kart Championship victories with wins in the KZ2 and KA1 classes, respectively, at Geelong.

Loeskow won the KZ2 final from pole position in his Ricciardo Kart, managing his lead over Daniel Price to the finish.

Aaron Cameron took a hard-fought third in his JC Kart as he too finished clear of a turn one incident which took out eight drivers.

Macauley Jones recovered from the turn 1 incident to finish fifth, while Brad Jones Racing stablemate Nick Percat ended up 19th and and GRM driver James Golding 28th.

Matthews gave Ricciardo Karts victory in KA1 as well, taking a comfortable victory over Scott Sorensen.

Kyle Henry-Smith won a vigorous race-long battle for third between he, Thomas Steele, Ryan Sanderson, and Matthew Stenner.

In KA2, defending Australian champion Jack Doohan took the victory after passing long-time leader Broc Feeney with just two laps remaining.

KA3 Senior went down to the wire with Leigh Nicolaou edging Matthew McLean by 0.1s after McLean closed in late in the race.

Joshua Car won the TaG 125 final, Morgan Feast won X30, Kai Allen won KA4 Junior, Cadel Ambrose won Cadet 9, and James Wharton won Cadet 12.

The third of five rounds of the The Australian Kart Championship, presented by Jayco and Castrol Edge, will be held in Monarto, South Australia from May 26-28.
