Sauber has become the latest Formula 1 team to unveil its 2018 challenger as it prepares for the opening pre-season test in Barcelona next week.
The team, which is now officially known as Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team, brandishes a revised livery dominated by the red airbox in deference to the Italian car manufacturer.
The Alfa Romeo sponsorship is a result of a closer technical alliance with Ferrari, which will supply the squad with current-spec engines in 2018 after the team used year-old units in 2017.
“We have put lots of effort and hard work into the C37 over the last few months, and it is fantastic to be launching the new car today,” said team boss Frederic Vasseur.
“Our target ahead of 2018 is clear: We have to catch up with the field and continue improving our performance during the course of the season.
“The return of Alfa Romeo to Formula 1 sets another milestone in the team’s history, and I am proud that such a historical brand has chosen us for their return to the sport.
“We are eager to start the 2018 season as the Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team.”
Sauber ended the 2017 season tenth and last in the constructors standings, with just five points to its name.
Those points were all scored by Pascal Wehrlein, who was dumped by the team at the end of the year.
New signing GP2 champion Charles Leclerc will make his Formula 1 debut alongside the team’s existing driver Marcus Ericsson.
Sauber heads to Barcelona where it will join the entire Formula 1 grid on Monday for the opening pre-season test.
