A special documentary that tells the story behind the development of the new Ford Mustang Supercar will air this week.
Fox Sports will broadcast a 60-minute feature, named An Even Faster Horse: Ford Mustang Supercar, produced by Neil Crompton’s Airtime Media on the pay television network on Tuesday night at 2030 AEDT.
The documentary goes behind the scenes of the Mustang Supercars project, beginning from the announcement in April last year, through its development process at Ford Performance in the US, up to its testing and track debut in Australia.
It also takes a look at the Mustang’s history in Australian motorsport prior to its re-emergence in this year’s Virgin Australia Supercars Championship.
Several key figures feature in the film, including Edsel Ford ll (Ford MotorCompany), Kay Hart (Ford Australia President & CEO), Mark Rushbrook (Global Director – Ford Performance), Team Penske boss Roger Penske, Dick Johnson and Ryan Story from DJR Team Penske, Tickford Racing boss Tim Edwards, and drivers Scott McLaughlin and Chaz Mostert.
The documentary will be repeated throughout race week following its premiere on Tuesday night.
