The November Supercars finale will for the third straight year feature the NAPA Sprintcar Invitational, held on a temporary dirt oval inside the circuit.
Organisers have again put up a $140,000 prize pool for competitors, with NAPA-backed James McFadden the first confirmed entrant.
The sprintcar action is scheduled for Thursday and Friday nights, supported by Formula 500s and Modified Sedans.
An announcement states there will be four days of speedway action, up from three in 2025.
It also teases that “other exciting feature events as part of the NAPA Speedway in the City will be advised closer to the bp Adelaide Grand Final.”
That’s believed to be a reference to plans to bring two-wheeled speedway racing to the event, which previously had organisers exploring the possibility of running on a second weekend.
South Australian Motorsport Board CEO Mark Warren hailed the plan for a packed, four-day program.
“The NAPA Speedway in the City is back, and the 2026 program will be a continuation of the event’s success that has made it a must-see component of the bp Adelaide Grand Final,” he said.
“We’ve consistently seen packed crowds and a great atmosphere for the NAPA Sprintcar Invitational as drivers race across the dirt with immense precision and horsepower, and our packed four-day program with multiple categories will deliver that once again.
“Speedway and Sprintcar action boast a strong community, with fans from across the country expected to spectate an event like nothing else as part of their bp Adelaide Grand Final experience.”
The Friday night speedway action at last year’s event was rained out, bringing an early end to the sprintcar portion of the event.
