Logan led from lights to flag, controlling the contest after beating pole position winner Lochie Dalton (Blanchard Racing Team) into the first turn.

Logan joined Tickford Autosport this year off the back of two campaigns with Walkinshaw Andretti United.

His win also represented his first Super2 Series podium.

“It’s hard to put into words,” said Logan.

“I have had such a tough couple of years in Super2, and moving to Tickford this year has been a really good thing.

“I don’t know how to put it into words. I’m pretty speechless.

“It was probably the longest 10 laps of my life. I know everyone says that, but it was bloody long. I’m just stoked.”

On Lap 1, Fourth place starter Reuben Goodall tried to go around the outside of the slow starting Dalton into Turn 1. However, he got nudged wide and off the road by his Tickford teammate Nash Morris and plummeted to 17th.

That incident was investigated and Morris was given a 15-second penalty for the contact.

Logan led the opening lap from Dalton, Morris, Eggleston Motorsport’s Bayley Hall, and Ayrton Hodson of Matt Stone Racing, the latter who made up five places.

Goodall recovered some places until Lap 2 when Eggleston Motorsport’s Bradi Owen got into the back of the Tickford Mustang exiting Turn 5 and sent it spinning.

Owen was also given a 15-second penalty for his indiscretion. He pitted mid-race and had another 20 seconds added to his race time for not serving his time penalty correctly.

On Lap 6, Dalton attempted to take the lead into Turn 1 but was squeezed onto the grass by Logan.

Having twice been on the receiving end, Goodall tipped hometown hero Rossi Johnson into a spin on Lap 13 at the Turn 6 hairpin trying to pass for 16th.

For the clash, Goodall was given a 15-second penalty. He was ultimately classified 17th while the Apogee Motorsport driver was 18th.

Dalton looked like he might threaten the lead until a mistake mid-race at Turn 5.

Eventually, Dalton let Logan skip away and instead wound up battling to keep Morris at bay.

On the penultimate lap, Dalton locked up entering Turn 1 and bombed out of podium contention.

That gave second to Morris, third to Eggleston Motorsport’s Bayley Hall and Tickford Autosport’s Ben Gomersall fourth.

However, on corrected order, it was Hall in second and Gomersall in third.

Logan closed out the contest with a six-second lead over Hall. Morris was seventh after his penalty was applied.

The Super2 Series continues on Sunday with qualifying at 10:35am AEST followed by Race 2 at 1:45pm AEST.
