Crompton will feature in Repco’s ‘Bringin’ the Bathurst’ commercial campaign.
Repco replaced Supercheap Auto as the naming rights sponsor of the Bathurst 1000 in a move that proved controversial at the time.
This year marks the sixth edition of the Repco Bathurst 1000, which takes place on second weekend of October.
On Friday, Repco issued a press release masquerading as a news story, claiming Crompton was “spotted” on set filming the ad campaign.
“The ad appears to have been shot discreetly with a small team of 300 staff and four film trucks with those silly side-pop-out trailers at an undisclosed location that looked like Sandown Raceway,” the press release reads in part.
“When asked how he’s been filling in his Sundays, Crompton said he has not been idle.”

Crompton is quoted as stating: “Well, I haven’t been sitting around asking, ‘What about me?’”, and “All I can say is everything is for sale!”
The Supercars voice was part of the award-winning 2024 ad campaign that saw Repco take out the Most Innovative Marketing Award at the Australian Automotive Aftermarket Expo.
