The Queenslander is at Winton with the team today turning his maiden Supercars laps ahead of the July 31-August 2 event.
Taylor replaces Jordyn Sinni aboard MCM’s second Walkinshaw-owned ZB Commodore in what is currently a one-off deal.
The teenager drove for the Walkinshaw Academy in last year’s Toyota GR Cup and retains a link to the Supercars outfit.
He currently competes for TekworkX in Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge, sitting third in that series following the most recent round in Townsville.
“We did the deal on Sunday,” team boss Amin Chahda told Speedcafe.
“We’d looked at doing something for Darwin but he was running in Porsche Challenge there and they decided not to do the double.

“At the moment it’s only for Perth but there’s a chance he’ll do Bathurst too, because Porsche doesn’t run there either.
“Today is all about getting him in the car and getting him comfortable and we’ll go from there.”
Sinni’s place in the team had been in doubt prior to Darwin due to a budget shortfall.
Matt Chahda continues in the squad’s other car and sits 15th in the standings following the opening two rounds.
