Cole Hitchcock will return to his role as Supercars corporate affairs manager after a brief time away from the sport.
Making way for the recently departed Nick Johnston last year, Hitchcock had subsequently been positioned in corporate affairs with Tourism and Events Queensland.
Hitchcock, who is scheduled to take up his old post on January 30, told Speedcafe.com he is relishing the chance for a fresh challenge and reconnecting with the broader Supercars family.
“The observations I've made in the time away from the sport will be useful when I come back into the role looking with a new lens,” Hitchcock told Speedcafe.com.
“I'm looking forward to getting back into the sport again.
“It has made some positive moves in the past 14 months that I have been away, particularly around the Newcastle event which will be one of the real standouts in 2017.”
Supercars chief executive James Warburton said Hitchcock's previous 12 years in the business before his 2015 departure had allowed him to forge key media, government and team relationships.
“His knowledge of the media, government, major events, sport and strategic direction will be a tremendous asset to our communications and digital team as we look to grow the sport in the coming years,” Warburton said.
