Grant Johnson won a confused opening Saloon Car race which was interrupted by a red flag after six laps.
Battling down the order, Justin Chaffey ended the race on the passenger door in the gravel at Turn 5.
The stricken Commodore drew the red flag, before a restart saw a one-lap dash to the flag.
Confusing matters however were a number of backmarkers, caught out of position as the red flag fell, at the head of the race.
It saw race leader Johnson buried in the pack, and the race initially awarded to Neil Streatfield before officials quickly amended the results with Johnson the victor.
Stadium Super Trucks
Matt Brabham set the fastest time in a group-based qualifying ahead of a Shootout to confirm the grid for Saturday's opening Stadium Super Truck race.
The field was divided into groups based on times from opening practice, with Brabham fastest when he finally took to the circuit.
Brabham headed Robby Gordon by 0.1705s with Blade Hildebrand in third.
A shootout at 1035 local time/1235 AEST on Saturday will finalise the grid for the first race of the weekend at 1250 local time.
WA Formula Ford
An enthralling battle between Peter Major and Bryce Moore dominated the opening Formula Ford race of the weekend.
Major got the jump from pole before quickly coming under pressure from Moore, the leading duo running wheel to wheel throughout the 10-lap encounter.
The lead battle allowed Josh Matthews to close in on the front two as Major began defending the lead with two laps remaining.
Matthews joined the party at the front on the final lap, having set the fastest lap the penultimate time by.
Major defending the inside line at the final turn, forcing Moore to look around the outside but was unable to find a way through.
The winning margin proved just 0.0948s, with the top three split by 0.27s with Matthews third.
