The 2013 Australian Off Road Championship has secured a television deal with the extreme series set to be shown on 7Mate.
Coming 24 hours after the belated announcement that V8 Supercars had struck a fresh two-year term to be broadcast on Channel 7, the Off Road Championship's board confirmed to its competitors the new broadcast arrangements.
Australian Off Road Championship rounds will be shown on Seven's digital channel, 7Mate.
Scheduling is currently planned to lead in to the V8 Supercars telecast and AFL games, approximately four weeks after each AORC event.
It will then be replayed within 7Mate's ‘Motorblock' the following week.
In addition Fox Sports' Speed TV will also televise the events following the coverage on Seven Sport.
An end of year highlights program is also scheduled to air on both networks at the conclusion of the Championship.
Edwin Vandenberg, chairman of ORRinc said it was exciting that the championship will be shown to a wide audience.
ORRinc and HP Sports Management, who employ former V8 Supercar employees Adam Perry and Bronwyn Humphrey, are working on a number of other initiatives aimed at enhancing the promotion of the AORC which are expected to be made public in the next few weeks.
Andrew Nicholls, the director of sport sales at Channel 7, said: “the 2013 Australian Off Road Championship is a good fit with the network's growing motorsport portfolio.”
