V8 Supercars is confident that a solution to the controversy over wet tyres experienced today at the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 will be found.
The entire 50 minute Practice 3 was abandoned this afternoon amid fears that the existence of two different compounds of Dunlop wet weather tyre present at the circuit would unfairly advantage some teams.

While V8 Supercars management will meet with team owners at the circuit tonight to find a solution to the situation, the official reason for cancelling both Practice 3 for the V8 Supercars Championship and Practice 2 for the Fujitsu V8 Supercars Series was the existence of fog at the top of the Mountain.
V8 Supercars spokesman Cole Hitchcock told Speedcafe.com that while the quantity of wet weather tyres at the circuit is not a concern, a review of the tyre stocks will be made to ensure a level playing field for the remainder of the weekend.
“V8 Supercars and Dunlop are managing the situation and can guarantee that there is absolutely no shortage of tyres to complete the event in its entirety,” Hitchcock told Speedcafe.com.
“Due to the extenuating circumstances today, we are looking at all tyre stocks at the circuit, and we have more than enough for every team to have sufficient.
“We will ensure that there will no teams disadvantaged over the weekend.”
