V8 Supercars’ 2014 calendar has now been formally completed with the dates for the Barbagallo and Queensland Raceway events receiving final sign-off.
The May 16-18 Barbagallo and August 1-3 Queensland Raceway dates had provisional when the schedule was unveiled in September.
The category released a statement today notifying that neither date will change following final agreement being reached with both Tourism WA’s Eventscorp and Queensland Raceway itself.
Assessment of safety improvements for Queensland Raceway is understood to be ongoing following the recent death of British Porsche racer Sean Edwards at the venue three weeks ago.
Both the Barbagallo and Queensland Raceway V8 Supercars events will run to the restructured Super Sprint format next year that will see two 100km races on Saturday and a 200km race on Sunday.
