V8 Supercars drivers and the support categories will get their first taste of Mount Panorama this weekend in the wet.
With an expected top of 14 degrees, the forecast for today predicts cloud with patchy rain and the chance of thunderstorms this afternoon and evening.
Rain is predicted to fall at some point over each of the four day race weekend.
When this story was published at 10.15am, light rain was falling at the bottom of Mount Panorama.
So far, Fujitsu V8 Supercars practice has been held with Mile Racing's Chaz Mostert setting the fastest time with a 2m33.6s. CLICK HERE for Speedcafe.com's report.
The first V8 Supercars session begins at 10.40am. A further two V8 sessions will be run at 12.55pm and 3.05pm.
