A 17-car field will take to Sydney Motorsport Park for Round 2 of the Australian Endurance Championship.

Tim Miles and Jaxon Evans, who won May’s Phillip Island 500, will reunite in the #75 Jamec Pem Audi R8 for what will be Round 2 of the Australian Endurance Championship.

There is change in the sister #74 Audi, however, with South African factory ace Kelvin van der Linde making his first AEC start with Geoff Emery.

Van der Linde missed the Phillip Island round due to an ultimately victorious Nurburgring 24 Hours campaign, but has shone in the Australian GT Championship sprint races so far this year.

Former Supercars and A1GP driver Jonny Reid will join the field alongside Tony Quinn in the latter’s #7 Darrell Lea McLaren 650S.

As previously reported, 2016 Australian Endurance Champion Grant Denyer will make his comeback to motorsport following a rally crash in March with Greg Taylor in the #5 GT Motorsports Audi R8.

Dylan O’Keeffe will make his Australian GT debut in the #124 KFC Audi R8 which he will share with Daniel Gaunt.

Round 2 of the Australian Endurance Championship supports the Red Rooster Sydney Super Sprint.

A rapid-fire program will see practice and both qualifying sessions held on Friday August 18, with the Sydney Motorsport Park 501 starting Saturday at 0735 local time/AEST.
