Australian single seater driver Josh Burdon will head to Europe next month for a Formula V8 3.5 test.
The Tasmanian has been awarded an outing at Spain's Jerez Circuit on December 5 by Renault Sport for winning the Asian Formula Renault title.
Burdon scored seven wins on his way to securing the championship which culminated at China's Zhuhai International Circuit last month.
“I am happy to have the opportunity to take part in winter testing in a Formula V8 3.5 at Jerez, they are serious cars, so it is very exciting,” said Burdon.
“A big thanks to Kenneth Ma, Formula Racing Development and Renault Sport for making this happen.
“Moving to China has been an education and also very exciting in some ways for me.
“I'm happy with my championship. I made no major mistakes finishing with seven race wins from 10 race finishes.
“Asia is exciting right now and I am hungry to work hard and turn the momentum from this championship win into more opportunities next year.”
Burdon will become the second Australian driver to test Formula V8 3.5 machinery after Thomas Randle contested the final two rounds of the championship for Comtec Racing.
