Rapidly rising Kiwi star Earl Bamber has been pitched into the third Porsche 919 Hybrid for the Le Mans 24 Hour in June.
Bamber will share the third LMP1 prototype with Brit Nick Tandy alongside the previously named F1 pilot Nico Hulkenberg.
Porsche’s third 919 will debut in the Spa 6 Hour World Endurance Championship event in May as a prelude to its La Sarthe mission.
Bamber is the current Porsche Supercup champion and twice Carrera Cup Asia titleholder who has shown tremendous progression within one-make series for the Zuffenhausen maker.
Porsche’s LMP1 squad is touting more podium finishes after its maiden victory in the season-ending WEC race in Brazil late last year.
