Cameron Crick has secured Armor All Pole Position for Round 3 of SuperUtes at Winton and will share the front row for Race 1 with fellow Mitsubishi driver Toby Price.

Crick led for the whole session, lapping at a best of 1:39.8585s to finish two tenths ahead of Price.

The two-time Dakar Rally champion is making just his first ECB SuperUtes Series start of 2019 but returns to a happy hunting ground having picked up two podiums at the rural victorian circuit last year.

Last year’s SuperUtes series winer Ryal Harris could only manage the second row of the grid in his #1 Mazda BT-50 after topping both practice sessions with a 1:40.3203s in the 20-minute qualifying session.

He will be joined by Craig Woods in the #64 Toyota Hilux after the 2018 season runner-up finished the session seven tenths off the leading time.

Tom Alexander (Isuzu D-Max) and Ben Walsh (Hilux) will line up fifth and sixth for Race 1 while Gerard Maggs (Hilux) and his son Jaiden (Triton) will share the fourth row of the grid tomorrow on their respective debuts.

Craig Thompson, in the fourth Hilux, and Christopher Formosa (Ford Ranger) rounded out the top 10.

Local driver Keven Stoopman ran his Holden Colorado wide into the gravel at Turn 6 early in the session. The debutant was left stuck in pit lane for the remainder of the session.

The opening race of the weekend kicks off tomorrow at 0845 local time/AEST.
