The reigning Formula 1 world champion joined Rossi at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, where the pair were asked about the prospect of sharing a car at the famous endurance race.
Norris, who has long described Rossi as one of his childhood heroes, immediately backed the idea when it was raised during the official Goodwood broadcast.
“Hell yeah, I would,” Norris said.
Rossi, who has competed in GT and endurance racing since retiring from MotoGP at the end of 2021, revealed he had already floated the idea with the McLaren driver.
“I tried to ask him, but they are very busy now, Formula 1 drivers,” Rossi joked.
Norris’ current F1 commitments make an immediate appearance unlikely, but McLaren’s return to the top class of the FIA World Endurance Championship could provide an opportunity later in his career.

The Woking marque will enter the Hypercar category in 2027, with Norris driving the new MCL-HY up the Goodwood hill during the event.
“We have too many races, but with McLaren now entering Le Mans, maybe next year… no, not next year,” Norris said.

“But maybe in a couple of years, I would love to. It would be an honour for me, and it would be a lot of fun, for sure.”
The prospect would unite Norris with one of the biggest influences on his career.
The Briton has regularly spoken about his admiration for Rossi, with his own use of neon yellow branding inspired by the nine-time motorcycle world champion.
Norris reflected on that connection during a separate appearance on the Goodwood House balcony, where he celebrated his maiden F1 championship.
“It’s amazing. I mean, obviously I stood here with Valentino yesterday. I stood here with my hero. He’s a guy I looked up to when I was a kid,” Norris said.
“This was a cool moment for me. Meet your heroes. They say don’t meet your heroes. Definitely meet your heroes.”
Rossi, now 47, remains active in endurance racing and indicated he would be willing to delay retirement long enough to share a car with Norris.
“I’ll try to wait for Lando,” he said.
Norris claimed his first F1 title at the 2025 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix but has endured a more challenging start to the new regulatory era, failing to win a grand prix in 2026 and recording his only victory of the season in the Miami sprint.
The 26-year-old sits fifth in the drivers’ championship with 97 points after nine rounds, while McLaren sits third in the constructors’ standings behind Mercedes and Ferrari.
