The Frenchman was absent from the circuit on Saturday after Ferrari confirmed earlier in the day that he had undergone medical checks and would remain under observation at a local medical facility.
Ferrari initially released a brief statement explaining Vasseur’s absence.
“Fred Vasseur will not be present at the circuit today,” the statement said.
“Following some medical checks, Fred will remain under observation at a local medical facility.
“No further medical information will be provided.
“We wish Fred a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him back at the track soon.”
Following qualifying, deputy team principal Jerome D’Ambrosio provided an update on Vasseur’s condition, indicating there was no immediate cause for concern.
“Without going into details he’s okay. He’ll undergo some checks today, but he’s okay,” he told Sky Sports.
Vasseur’s absence came during a busy day for Ferrari in Monaco, with the Italian squad entering the weekend among the favourites after showing strong pace throughout practice.

However, Ferrari ultimately fell short of pole position in qualifying, with Lewis Hamilton securing third on the grid ahead of teammate Charles Leclerc in fourth.
Leclerc had briefly held provisional pole late in the session before dropping behind Hamilton, pole-sitter Kimi Antonelli and Max Verstappen, before hitting the wall on his final flying lap and failing to improve.
