GALLERY: Goodwood Revival

The weekend’s Goodwood Revival provided another glittering showcase of motor racing’s past.

This year’s event featured a special tribute to the career of the late Sir Jack Brabham.

The Brabham family attended all three days with Sir Jack’s sons Geoff and David and grandsons Matthew and Sam all taking part in a parade of vehicles associated with the three-time Formula 1 world champion.

Alongside his appearance in the parade, David Brabham lined up against a star-studded field of drivers in the St Marys Trophy.

The race specifically for Austin A30s and A35s saw Brabham team up with car owner Martyn Spurrell.

The pair each contested a 20 minute heat with the times added together to produce an overall result.

Brabham progressed from 25th on the grid to finish 21st in a heat that was won by British Touring Car driver Andrew Jordan.

Jordan led home fellow BTCC racer Gordon Shedden with touring car legend Steve Soper in third.

The heat featured nine-time Le Mans 24 Hours winner Tom Kristensen, who finished 10th, while rallying great and 1966 Bathurst winner Rauno Aaltonen was 13th.

New Zealander Paul Radisich was also competing but failed to finish.

Brabham’s team-mate Spurrrell finished his heat 19th, which earned the pair 17th overall.

Andrew and his father Mike Jordan took the overall honours.
