Joining British outfit Academy Motorsport, McLeod becomes the fifth Ford Racing Development Driver to represent the team this season.

McLeod will partner Canadian Marco Signoretti in the team’s #62 Mustang entry, which has become a car used to showcase Ford’s wider junior driver pool.

The young gun is no stranger to the Ford Mustang GT4, this year competing for Multispares Racing in Monochrome GT4 Australia with Mason Harvey.

McLeod and Harvey sit third in the Silver Cup driver standings after two rounds of the current season, with a pair of podium finishes.

“I’m really excited to be joining Academy Motorsport for Monza,” said McLeod.

“Racing in Europe in the GT4 European Series is a huge opportunity, and I can’t wait to get started.

“The team has an outstanding reputation for developing drivers, and I’m confident we can have a strong weekend alongside Marco.”

McLeod contested the Mustang Challenge Le Mans Invitational in 2025, winning two races and elevating himself onto Ford’s junior pathway.

“Cameron is exactly the kind of driver the #62 seat is designed for,” said team manager Les Jones.

“Five development drivers through our garage in one season is something we’re extremely proud of. Cameron’s record speaks for itself, and paired with Marco, we’re expecting a strong Monza.”

American Ford Racing junior Jenson Altzman joined Signoretti for the season opener at Paul Ricard, with the pair finishing ninth and 15th in the two races.

Altzman has experience in GT4 Australia, having raced alongside Jack Wallis at The Bend in 2025.

McLeod is not the only Australian represented in the field, with Lachlan Evennett contesting the full GT4 European Series calendar alongside an Australian campaign.

Round 2 of the GT4 European Series will be held at Monza across May 30-June 1 (AEST).

Fox Sports and Kayo will broadcast the action in Australia.
