Mark Winterbottom has invited fans to get creative to name his new #5 Orrcon Steel Racing FPR Falcon and win a visit to the Bathurst grid.
Orrcon Steel will give a lucky fan two paddock passes to the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000, a guided tour of the FPR garage, the opportunity to stand on the grid with the car and a private meet and greet with Winterbottom and co-driver Steven Richards.
Originally, the team had code-named chassis FPR-1111 Pippa – in keeping with the theme of Will Davison’s Trading Post Falcon being called ‘Kate’ after the Royal Wedding – but Frosty was having none of it.
“The new Orrcon Steel FPR Falcon has a nice rear-end, but I think my fans can be a little more creative than ‘Pippa’,” Winterbottom said.
“It’s the last V8 Supercar FPR will build before the Car of the Future and it’s Orrcon Steel’s 10th anniversary of being in the sport – so we need a name that is strong and powerful to reflect that leading into Bathurst.
“It needs a cool name.”

Winterbottom and the FPR team will judge the entries on creativity and the tie-in with Orrcon Steel.
“The car looks awesome with the black livery that we unveiled this weekend and it would be a fantastic way for the season to turn around if Steve and I were to walk away with victory this weekend.
“We didn’t get a chance to put on our green tyres this afternoon, but that gives us a set in hand for tomorrow. A rabbit decided to play chicken with me at turn three – and it lost.”
Practice at the L&H 500 resumes tomorrow with a pair of qualifying sessions before the two qualifying races.
