Lee Holdsworth has had 25 points deducted from his championship tally after his early race collision with Will Davison.
Following an investigation and an admission by the Fujitsu Racing driver that he had driven in a careless manner, the stewards imposed the penalty.
The clash saw Davison spin in the middle of the circuit at Turn 6 where he was collected by Todd Kelly and Russell Ingall, amongst others.
Despite the penalty, Holdsworth remains down in 12th in the championship, just ahead of Toll Holden Racing Team’s James Courtney and team-mate Michael Caruso.
Stewards also imposed a $1000 fine on Shane van Gisbergen for crossing the blend line at pit exit during qualifying today.
Also, Greg Murphy was disqualified from qualifying for the use of non control wheels.
