Honda Australia hosted a special event for the Honda Car Club of Victoria (HCCV) prior to round 5 of the 2023 TCR Australia Series at Sandown.
On the eve of round 5 of the 2023 TCR Australia Series down at Sandown Raceway, Honda Australia hosted the Car Club of Victoria (HCCV) in the Honda activation space, with a special meet and greet with Tony D’Alberto, the Wall Racing team, and a track side photo opportunity.
To kickstart the afternoon, each member was given the chance to drive their classic Honda vehicles, from S2000s, to Integra’s and the FK8 Civic Type R, showcasing a wide range of Honda vehicles owned across the Car Club.
The proud club members took the opportunity for track side photos of their Honda vehicles and were treated to a lap of the esteemed track at Sandown Raceway.
Tony D’Alberto’s FK8 Civic Type R was on display for the club.
Members had the opportunity to head down to the pit lane garage to look underneath the bonnet and be given a tour of the pit area. There was plenty of discussion and excitement for the much-anticipated arrival of the new FL5 Type R racer, which will make its debut at Sydney Motorsport Park at round one of the TCR World Tour in November.
Round 5 of TCR was an important one for Tony, Wall Racing and Honda Australia as it was his last race in his championship winning FK8 Civic Type R racer.
Tony shared his fond memories of the car and what it meant for him as a driver.
While the new car couldn’t be there in person, Tony signed photos of the new racer for the Honda Car club members.
The event coincided with Honda’s global 75th Anniversary and the team took the opportunity to celebrate the milestone with the Honda Car Club with custom cookies and the sharing of Honda stories.
