The Michael Shank Racing squad has uncovered its warpaint for a pair of Acura NSX GT3s that will contest the 2017 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
The two-car effort features striking mirror image black, grey and white schemes.
Wearing a distinctive black nose, the #86 machine pays tribute to the 30th anniversary since Acura was established while the #93 will reverse the colour pattern with a white front end transitioning to a black rear deck in a throwback to the foundation of Honda Performance Development in 1993.
“The debut of the Acura NSX GT3 at the prestigious Rolex 24 will mark the return of the Acura brand to IMSA sports car competition,” HPD president Art St. Cyr said.
“We've aimed to race the NSX in North America since the car was just a sketch on paper, and we couldn't more excited than to debut at Daytona.”
Driver line-ups include IndyCar Series driver Graham Rahal who will join series regulars Andy Lally and Katherine Legge and endurance racer Mark Wilkins in the #93 NSX GT3.
The team's #86 Acura will feature Indy 500 and IndyCar Series champion Ryan Hunter-Reay sharing with Jeff Segal, Oswaldo “Ozz” Negri, Jr and Tom Dyer.
All eight drivers will take part in the “Roar Before the 24” IMSA series open test from January 6-8.
The Rolex 24 at Daytona is scheduled for January 28-29 which will open the 12-race 2017 WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
