Australian motorsport will experience a different type of horsepower tomorrow at Betfair Park, Sandown Raceway.
In aid of V8 Supercars driver Jason Richards, the race meeting has been dedicated to raising money for the cancer sufferer.
The Melbourne Racing Club, managers of Sandown Raceway, has donated the entire eight-race card. Motorsport-related sponsors and supporters have rallied together in recent weeks and the entire program was has been sold.
Among the sponsors supporting the day include Jack Daniel's Racing, Norton 360, Apex Steel, Wilson Security, Payce, Speedcafe.com and Telstra, who have named their race after Jason's two daughters Sienna and Olivia.
The ‘feature' race of the day is Race 6 and is called the Fujitsu General and Jason Richards Cup.
Race 8 on the day is Speedcafe.com Plate.
All monies raised from the sale of sponsorship and a race day luncheon in Jason's honour will go directly to Jason and his family during his treatment.
Many drivers and teams will be present at the track tomorrow, including Team BOC's race winner Jason Bright, John Bowe, Jason Bargwanna, Tony D'Alberto and more.
Richards, who drives for Team BOC, was diagnosed with adrenocortical carcinoma in November 2010.
The general public is welcome to attend Sandown Raceway tomorrow, with racing starting after midday.
