Fujitsu V8 Series regular Taz Douglas has been given approval by V8 Supercars to race in D'Alberto's place, if required.
Douglas sat in the Wilson Security Racing entry this morning, and is preparing to complete his first laps in the car in the fifth and final practice session.
Team owner Al D'Alberto confirmed the illness but was hopeful that Tony will be fit to race.
