Layne Riggs, son of former NASCAR driver Scott, will make his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut at Texas Motor Speedway on September 23.

A major story of the current NASCAR silly season, Riggs raced in three NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series races this season and making his Xfinity Series debut will open up his options for 2024.

The 21-year-old will drive the Infinity Communications Group Chevy entered by Kaulig Racing in three races as he not only take in Texas, but also Las Vegas and Martinsville.

Contesting three truck race rounds with as many teams, Riggs has scored a best of third at Indianapolis Raceway Park driving for Spire Motorsports.

“I’m so excited to be making my first NASCAR Xfinity Series start at Texas Motor Speedway with a team that has had success in the Xfinity Series,” he said.

“I am super thankful to Jeff Coffey at Infinity Communications along with the whole Kaulig Racing organization for giving me this opportunity. I am so ready to get on track.”

Riggs became the youngest driver to win a NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Racing Series championship in 2022.

The championship meant that he had the highest point’s score across all the NASCAR-sanctioned short tracks courtesy of 16 wins and 30 top-five finishes from 43 starts.

“I’ve been watching Layne on the short-track circuit for a couple of years now and I am impressed by what he has earned so far in his young career,” said Chris Rice, president of Kaulig Racing.

“He’s had a couple of starts in the truck series and I look forward to seeing what he can do in one of our cars. Infinity Communications has been a huge supporter of Layne’s career so far, so I’m happy that he is able to bring them along for the ride.”
