Ross Lilley and Matthew Holt emerged victorious from the 60 minute Production Sports Car and Touring Car feature races respectively on Sunday at the Bathurst Motor Festival.
Dodge Viper driver Lilley cruised home nearly 12 seconds clear of nearest rival Ash Samadi (Mosler MTR) in the Production Sports Cars, with the Porsche GT3 Cup of Stephen Borness completing the podium.
Neale Muston led the 45 car field in the early going but crashed his Porsche heavily at the top of the Mountain mid-race.
The defending race winner was lucky to walk away from the incident unscathed.
Holt’s Production Touring Car victory came in thrilling circumstances as the HSV GTS swept by Ryan Simpson’s Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X on the final lap.
Simpson, who had been leading by almost a full minute before a front tyre began to delaminate, took the flag third behind Holt and Jim Pollicina (HSV GTS).
The Historic Touring Cars and Formula Vee classes were also on track throughout the weekend.
The Sunday Group N wins were split between Michael Anderson (Ford Falcon GT) and Daryl Hansen (Ford Mustang).
Daniel Reinhardt triumphed in the morning’s Vee race, while the afternoon’s encounter was red flagged and deemed a non-event following a multi-car incident at Turn 1.
