James McFadden has continued the best season of his young Sprintcar career by winning his fifth round of World Series Sprintcars at Avalon Raceway, extending his lead in the Championship.
McFadden – who started from the pole after winning the Gold Shootout – beat home Brooke Tatnell and Max Dumesny – who made a welcome return to a WSS Podium.
The Series lead for the Totally Workwear supported driver has increased to 84, his consistency and race wins throughout the season paying dividends. With just one round to go on New Years' Night, McFadden looks certain to wrap up the Speedweek crown.
Tatnell set the fastest time in qualifying, whilst the Murray Bridge round winner, Garry Brazier won the B-Main, however was one of a number of cars that did not finish the feature race.
The Series resumes on New Year's Night for the traditional Sungold Stadium Warrnambool stoush.
