Morgan Haber has recorded his first round victory in the Kumho Tyres V8 Touring Car Series by taking a win and a third place finish from the two Sunday races.
Having taken his maiden race win on Saturday, Haber missed out on clean-sweeping the weekend after falling off the road in Race 3 while trying to wrestle the lead from Jim Pollicina (Holden) at Turn 4.
Pollicina went on to score his maiden race win in the final to finish the weekend second overall – a result which came despite having dropped from second to 10th in Race 2 thanks to a spin.
A second and a sixth in the respective Sunday races secured West Australian Matt Hansen (Holden) the final place on the overall podium.
Series front-runner Josh Hunter's difficult Saturday run continued on Sunday morning when his Falcon failed to take the start due to brake problems.
The Finance Ezi-backed driver subsequently charged from 15th on the grid to finish second in Race 3.
The results leave Hunter 20 points behind Pollicina in the points standings after four of six rounds.
It was a difficult day too for Justin Garioch (Holden), who failed to start the final after suffering engine problems in Race 2, while Aaron Tebb (Holden) sat out both races after the engine issues he experienced on proved terminal.
The series continues with the Shannons Nationals presented by Hi-Tec Oils at Phillip Island on September 22-23.
