Hayman and Jett (#25 McLaren) extended their championship lead with another win this season, coming home by 3.07s.

Blake Purdie/Jobe Stewart (#48 Audi) came home in second, ahead of McElrea Racing teenager Jay Murray in the #7 BMW, claiming his first GT4 Australia podium.

Blake Dowdall/Cooper Cutts (#95 Ford Mustang) came home in fourth, while Aaron Cameron/Lochie Dalton (#27 Mustang) rounded out the top five after starting from the rear.

Drama unfolded at Turn 1 for first-time pole-sitter Jensen Shearer, coming into contact with Mason Harvey.

Shearer got the jump over Jett on the front row, with Harvey rocketing towards the front from the second row.

Harvey swept around the outside to take the lead at Turn 1, however Shearer made wheel-to-wheel contact with the Mustang, sending Harvey into the wall and drawing the safety car.

Shearer was given a drive through penalty for the contact.

When the field took the restart, Race 1 winner Jack Johnson brought the #114 McLaren into the pits reporting power steering issues.

In the laps following the restart, Dalton set about a comeback drive for the ages.

An overnight engine change for the #27 Mustang meant the Super2 race winner was forced to start from the rear.

In nine laps of racing, Dalton raced his way back inside the top 15 from 27th on the grid.

The safety car was deployed once again when Andrew Torti’s #88 Toyota Supra wound up beached in the gravel trap at Turn 11.

Shearer benefitted from the second yellow flag, allowing him to catch back up to the field after serving his drive through.

When the compulsory pit stop cycle was complete, Shearer emerged in seventh position, despite losing time in the stop due to having to change the right front wheel.

The pole-sitter’s recovery drive came undone in the final minutes after contact from Caleb Paterson forced him off the road at Turn 5, falling outside the top 10.

Paterson was handed a five second penalty for the incident.

Purdie and Jay each leapt forwards in the pit stop cycle with differing strategies.

Stewart pitted early in the fray from the middle of the top 10, allowing Purdie to undercut those ahead with clear air and rocket to third.

In stark contrast, Jay elected to run long, emerging in second position after being one of the last to pit.

Daniel Frougas/Chris White (#9 Toyota Supra) came home in sixth, ahead of Silver-Am Cup winners Cody Burcher/Dean Campbell (#118 Mustang) in seventh.

Sam Paley/Jack Wallis (#62 Mustang) were eighth, while Blake Tracey/George Miedecke (#35 Mustang) bounced back to ninth after Race 1’s success penalty dropped them outside the top 10.

Aaron Seton/Jason Gomersall (#1 Mustang) rounded out the top 10 to be second in Silver-Am.

Glenn Walker (#14 Mustang) took Am Cup honours in 16th outright after a hard-fought battle with Nathan Callaghan and Peter Lawrence.

Monochrome GT4 Australia moves on to Sydney Motorsport Park for the penultimate round of the season on September 18-20.
