In just over a week the GoFundMe campaign has hit its £185,000 (roughly $350,000) goal, currently sitting at £186,344 via 154 donations.
The money will be used to help facilitate a life-saving kidney transplant for Wilson, who is the best known driver coach in the world.
While Britain’s National Health Service will pay for the transplant itself, the money raised by the GoFundMe campaign will be used to compensate donor Georges Kaye, who also happens to be Wilson’s doctor.
Wilson’s standing in the motor racing industry is reflected by the names that have donated to the cause.
The equal top donor is legendary F1 designer and current Aston Martin team principal Adrian Newey who contributed £10,000.
Another £10,000 donation came from Charles Richmond, the Duke of Richmond and Gordon and the founder of the Goodwood Festival of Speed and Goodwood Revival.

McLaren CEO Zak Brown tipped in £7500 with other F1-related donors including Karun Chandhok, Jonathan Wheatley and Cadillac drivers Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez.
Jim Farley, CEO of the Ford Motor Company, donated £5000, as did BTCC boss Alan Gow.
Supercars-related donors included drivers Cam Waters, Thomas Randle, Andre Heimgartner and Kai Allen, Team 18 boss Adrian Burgess and Greg Murphy.
