In a new agreement with Motorsport Australia, The Bend Motorsport Park’s APEX League will return to the governing body for its remaining three rounds.
The Bend and MA will broaden the categories of eligible vehicles to allow larger grids.
TCR cars are being invited to compete alongside Lamborghini Super Trofeo, ex-Porsche Carrera Cup, Ferrari World Challenge and MARC I vehicles as part of the APEX Cup class.
The Motor Racing Australia-promoted SuperTT series in NSW had become the new home of TCR racing in Australia, with the APEX announcement opening up a new avenue for owners to race the vehicles.
A single set of supplementary regulations will apply to all eligible vehicles competing in the APEX League, streamlining participation for a broad range of categories.
APEX League is designed for amateur racers with limited time, as events take place in one day during the working week.
Take the short survey.
Events are exclusive to non-professional drivers and those who want to make the step up from track day activities to racing.
APEX League events are split into three distinct classes, with GT3, GT2, and MARC II cars under APEX Trophy, GT4 machinery racing under APEX Challenge, and the aforementioned APEX Cup.
“We’re pleased to expand our work with The Bend through the APEX League, while also creating space for more people to go racing within the APEX League‘s premium and successful format,” said Motorsport Australia CEO Josh Blanksby.
“We are committed to working with circuits, clubs and categories to find practical solutions to go racing supported by the structure and safety frameworks that only Motorsport Australia can deliver.
“It’s important that we work together to find flexible and sensible solutions to ensure the long-term strength of motorsport in Australia.”
Alistair MacDonald, CEO of The Bend noted the venue’s ongoing commitment to motorsport.
“We are committed to finding the best outcomes for the motorsport community and are pleased to be able to have more cars on track at The Bend,” MacDonald said.
“APEX League offers an easy way for drivers to compete. The approach is simple – one day at the track, mid‑week, with plenty of meaningful seat time.”
The next APEX League round will run at The Bend on August 19.
