The Hall of Famer has been named as part of Kaulig Racing’s new Ram line-up for the event, driving the ‘Free Agent Driver Program’ entry.

Kaulig has promised to run a variety of drivers in the all-star truck, including from outside NASCAR circles.

Stewart, 54, retired from NASCAR racing at the end of 2016 but continues to compete in NHRA drag racing competition.

He does so in partnership with Stellantis, the American auto giant behind the Ram and Dodge brands.

“I’ve raced just about everything with four wheels at Daytona, but never a truck,” said the three-time NASCAR Cup Series winner.

“So when a seat in the new Ram was offered up for their first race back in NASCAR, I didn’t hesitate.

“Ram’s Free Agent program is another great way for me to stay sharp and have a little fun.”

The February 13 Daytona race will mark Stewart’s first Truck Series appearance since 2005.

Kaulig will run five Ram Trucks this season, with regulars Daniel Dye, Brenden Queen and Justin Haley to also be joined by the winner of a reality TV competition.

The team is also set to run two Chevrolet Camaros in the Cup Series but has shut its Xfinity program amid the Ram deal.

Kaulig fielded Shane van Gisbergen full-time in the Xfinity Series in 2024, while Will Brown made starts for the team in Cup and Xfinity last year.
