Ford Performance Racing will compete with ‘GT Black' tribute colour schemes at the L&H 500 Phillip Island and Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000.
To celebrate the introduction of the limited edition FPV GT Black, the factory Ford team will display the GT Black branding and black paint on the front and rear bars of the #5 and #6 FPR Falcons (as seen in this sneak peek picture).
Also, the team's four drivers – Mark Winterbottom/Steve Richards (Orrcon Steel FPR) and Will Davison/Luke Youlden (Trading Post FPR) – will be suited up in new black race suits.
Only 120 of the FPV GT Black cars have been produced after an overwhelming response to a concept car displayed at the recent Melbourne Motor Show.
One of the limited edition road cars will be on display at Phillip Island outside of the Blue Oval store this weekend.
The FPV GT Black is essentially a standard FPV GT, with added features including black wheels, black leather interior, black dash, matt black decals – and even the badges are black!
