Erebus Motorsport's primary sponsor Penrite has revealed a livery concept inspired by Kevin Bartlett's famous Z28 Camaro ahead of this year's Sandown 500 retro round.
The oil company has teamed up with the Melbourne team to produce the colour scheme, which pays tribute to Nine Network sponsored Camaro that Bartlett drove to two pole positions at Bathurst in the early 1980s.
A series of livery concepts are set to be produced in the lead up to Sandown although the Bartlett paint job is not expected to be utilised by the team's #9 entry for David Reynolds.
Following the success of last year's inaugural event Sandown 500 retro run, teams have been encouraged to run vintage liveries.
“Penrite Oil have a long history in Australian Motorsport dating back to the 1920's, so the Supercars retro round really gives us an opportunity to remember the legends of the sport such as ‘KB' and relive some of their stories from the past,” said Penrite Oil's Director of Motorsport, Jarrod Harding.
Teams will reveal their retro liveries in the coming weeks with the Sandown 500 scheduled for September 15-17.
