The Red Bull Racing Australia quartet have been tipped as favourites to win this year’s Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 according to players of the Castrol EDGE V8 Predictor fantasy game.

Victory in the Sandown 500 has the Jamie Whincup/Paul Dumbrell poised as top contenders as well as teammates Craig Lowndes/Warren Luff with Lowndes’ Mt Panorama record one of the greatest in the business.

Fans can sign-up to the V8 Predictor anytime during the 2013 season with amazing round-by-round prizes up for grabs and for the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 the round winner will pick up a signed pair of Russell Ingall’s gloves, as worn by The Enforcer during the race!

Podium form from Sandown also sees the Pepsi Max Crew FPR drivers Will Davison and Steve Owen highly picked along to do well on a circuit where Davison picked up his first Bathurst victory in 2009.

Maximising your chance at winning the ultimate V8 experience starts by signing up to the Castrol EDGE V8 Predictor – exclusive to Speedcafe.com.

The Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 is taking place this weekend and you have until midnight (AEST) tonight (Friday October 11) to finalise your team – giving you the advantage of knowing some of Sunday’s grid placings.

All 29 cars will run on the hard compound Dunlop tyre and maximising the tyre life will be critical this weekend.

The Supercheap Auto Bathurst V8 Supercars track action kicks off Thursday for practice. Qualifying will be held on Friday afternoon, followed by the famous Top 10 shootout on Saturday.

‘The Great Race’ starts at 10.30am AEST on Sunday, October 13.

V8 Supercars have also introduced a minimum number of pit stops for each entry at Bathurst.

The championship will make every car complete seven mandatory pit stops at the Bathurst 1000, aimed at reducing the impact of fuel consumption.

If you’re having trouble making predictions for the weekend, check out who the experts think will perform best at Mount Panorama.
