Craig Lowndes has taken provisional pole for Race 21 of the V8 Supercars Championship Series at Symmons Plains Raceway in Tasmania today.
After topping yesterday’s practice session, the TeamVodafone driver topped the provisional session, while his two title rivals will start outside the top 10.
Jamie Whincup (TeamVodafone) and James Courtney (Jim Beam Racing) will start Race 21 from 11th and 12th respectively.
Mark Winterbottom (Orrcon Steel FPR) finished the session second ahead of Garth Tander (Toll HRT), Lee Holdsworth (Fujitsu/GRM) and Paul Dumbrell (The Bottle-O Racing).
The other cars to compete in the top 10 shootout will be Jason Bright (Trading Post Racing), Steve Richards (Dunlop Super Dealers), Russell Ingall (Supercheap Auto Racing), Michael Caruso (Fujitsu/GRM) and Greg Murphy (Castrol EDGE Racing).
The top 10 shootout will be held at 12.20pm.
