The unseasonably cool conditions of Friday were a distant memory on Saturday as the mercury hit 32 and put a lot of strain on man and machine.
Kai Allen kept his cool with a dominant second career win, while Brodie Kostecki finished on the podium, but never got to spray any champagne, instead ending up in the medical centre due his illness and the conditions.
He wasn’t alone either, with Thomas Randle suffering a failed cool suit and requiring medical intervention after the race.
